Board of Directors

The 5 members (minimum 3) Board is elected yearly by the membership in October/November

POWERS AND DUTIES -The Board of Directors shall have the powers and duties necessary for the
administration of the affairs of the Association as defined in the Bylaws and Covenants.

The offices are President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, and Member-at-Large

President

Brian Rusiniak

The President shall be the chief executive officer of the Association.

They shall preside at all meetings of the Association and of the Board of Trustees. They shall have all of the general powers and duties which are usually vested in the office of President of the Association.

Vice President

Susan Gooch

A Vice President, shall take the place of the President and perform their duties whenever the President be absent or unable to act. If neither the President nor the Vice President is able to act the Board of Trustees shall appoint some other member of the Board to do so on an interim basis.

The Vice President shall also perform such other duties as such from time to time be imposed upon them by the Board of Trustees.

Secretary

The Secretary shall keep the minutes of all meetings of the Board of Trustees, and the minutes of all meetings of the Association; they shall have charge of such books and papers as the Board of Trustees may directors; and they shall, in general, perform all the duties incident to the office of Secretary.

Treasurer

Peter Fehr

The Treasurer shall have responsibility for Association funds and securities, and shall be responsible for keeping full and accurate accounts of all receipts and disbursements in books belonging to the Association.

They shall be responsible for the deposit of all monies and other valuable effects in the name, and to the credit, of the Association in such depositories as may from time to time be designated by the Board of Trustees.

GCLT Committees

While our Board of Directors handles most of the day-to-day responsibilities for Grand Cypress on Lake Tarpon, we have several committees that help keep different areas running smoothly.

These volunteer committees help create an engaged and vibrant community and spread the work to keep time commitments low.

ARB

The Architectural Review Board enforces the architectural community standards in our neighborhood to keep us uniform and visually standardized to a reasonable extent.

A resident that wants to make any change or addition to their property must secure approval from an HOA architectural review board. This helps our community maintain high standards that keeps the community looking beautiful and the property values higher.

Social

The purpose of the Social Committee is to foster a cohesive community by organizing fun, interesting events for the entire community so neighbors can meet and socialize with each other.

Common Areas

CAC members are responsible for the contracted maintenance of common areas such as gates, cameras, ponds, landscaping, streets, trash and signs. They will review contracts periodically in conjunction with the finance committee. They will advise the BOD in any improvements, needed corrections, or additions to the community common areas.

Marina

The ongoing responsibility of the committee is to ensure the marina is properly maintained. The committee is responsible for ensuring contractors are maintaining the marina as outlined in their respective contracts. Additionally, the committee is to explore the feasibility of renting out the wet slips exclusively for GCLT members.

Finance

The committee will be responsible for reviewing financial records,

financial statements, and the annual budget. They will review bids and work with other committees to make sure the bid process runs smoothly. The committee will advise the board on financial decisions to ensure that the community remains fiscally responsible.

Compliance

The Compliance Committee is to safeguard the integrity of the community by ensuring that all members are held to the same established standards thereby maintaining property values and the overall appearance of the community. They will conduct periodic walkthroughs of the neighborhood and document violations.

The committee is comprised of an odd number of volunteers with at least 3 volunteers on the committee to ensure fair judgement.

Fining

The committee is responsible for reviewing and voting on fines for any violations that a member has been accused of.

Normally most violations are remedied by the member before it comes to this process. At a Fining Committee hearing, the member has a chance to state their case, and the three-member board votes on whether to impose a fine.
